Artist’s Statement

My current approach reflects the traditional hard-edged geometric abstraction, combined with the movement and energy characterized by the abstract expressionists.

My compositions begin with a bold linear statement which extends to all four sides of the canvas. This statement creates the motion and energy desired in the completed work and also serves as the framework for the vividly-colored underlapping and overlapping shapes, creating for the viewer the experience of space and motion.
